An Easy and Effective Sweep From Open Guard by Leonardo Machado (Video In The Blog Post)
When I use to live in my hometown I always used to train with Leonardo Machado. I started Jiu-Jitsu in 2001 and he started in 2003, so we trained together for a very long time in my hometown Juiz de Fora.
I have always said that he is one of the guys most responsible for the development of my passing game, because he has a super tough foot on the biceps guard. I always used to call him to roll, to make sure I could familiarize myself against this type of guard.
When you face someone who really knows how to do the foot on the biceps game, passing that guard can become a nightmare, because sometimes it is very hard to take it off.
Machado, has a very offensive game from there, and also once he places his foot on your biceps it is very very complicate to get out.
So I asked him to show us his main sweep he uses from there, and he showed us a great technique, that is very easy to apply and super effective. Many times I have seen the great Leandro Lo, doing something similar to it, so we know that it works.
I hope you guys enjoy it.
