Premier BJJ Training in Bedford, MA | Bernardo Faria Academy

Guys today I am here with Jason Hunt.  Jason is a black belt under Romulo Barral.  Romulo is one of the guys that I always looked up to during my career. Jason and him are good friends and Jason is a very high level black belt and a great instructor.  So guys, he showed me something really cool before from the knee shield which is one of my favorite positions and I asked him to show us.  It is a leg drag, it is super sneaky and simple.  So guys check it out below and then I will do some breakdown.

Breakdown of Knee Shield Pass Going To The Leg Drag by Jason Hunt:

So guys, there are a lot of details here.  The first thing that he does that is very important is his body positioning and how he is sitting on my leg.   He is crushing my bottom leg and I wish you guys could feel the pressure.  The next thing that he does is get the pocket grip on the end of the pants.
The grip on the end of the pants is very important, this is going to give him control to set up his next pass.  After screen-shot-2016-12-01-at-6-47-41-pm   he has this grip he is going to bring the leg that is not trapped and put his shin on my shin.  When he does this there is a lot of pressure on my leg and he is able to break open my guard.
Once he breaks open the guard is going to jump to the other side and solidify the leg drag.  He likes to pause here to establish the position which is very important.  After he stops here he will wait for his opponent to relax and then pass.  Anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this position, oss!
