Today I am here with Fabiano Scherner, Fabiano is a 10X World Champion in the Masters Division, and he has also had a lot of MMA fights and even fought twice in the UFC. Fabiano is the coach of Chael Sonnen and Paige Vanzant who are some of the most popular MMA fighters today. Today he is going to show us one of his favorite techniques that he just used against Tim Sylvia in a grappling match last week. Fabiano is amazing at this position so let’s see how he does it below and then I will do a breakdown.
Breakdown of The Unescapable Wrist Lock by Fabiano “Pega-Leve” Scherner:
Guys this is a very good set up for the wrist lock. Like Fabiano said in the video, a lot of people don’t think that wrist lock works well in the direction that he does it with the palm facing up. Fabiano is a master at this position.
One of the best things that he does is isolate my arm completely. He uses his chin and his under hook very well, he kind of grabs my shoulder with his under hook so I have no way to get my arm out. Another one of the most important details that he does is the way he finishes.
Instead of pushing all of his weight into me, he just takes his arm and pulls my elbow, in this direction he barely has to use strength and it is super tight. A lot of people try to pressure into you and they show you the lock before it happens, the way Fabiano does it is great.
Anyways guys I really hope you like this technique and try it out, also if you like Fabiano he has plenty more techniques like this on his new DVD set for BJJ you can check it out below. If you have not already download my FREE Ebook, I know this will help you guys! A lot of people ask me questions that I answer in this book! Oss!
