Today I am here with Mikey Musumeci.  Mikey is the most accomplished American Jiu Jitsu practitioner there is.  He has won the adult IBJJF world championship twice and he is only 22 years old.  Mikey is one of the most technical guys I have ever met.  He is super good at doing IBJJF legal foot locks and today I asked him to show me one of his favorites.  So guys lets see the video below and then I will do some breakdown.

Breakdown of How To Defend The Leg Drag Going To The Straight Foot Lock by Mikey Musumeci:

So guys immediately this is a very good position because he is showing it as a defense to the leg drag.  The leg drag is one of the most popular passes there is today and when someone does it, it can be very difficult to deal with.
One of the best ways to deal with a position that someone is trying to do with you is to be able to counter it.  If someone is close to passing and you are able to recover and threaten them with something it can hurt their confidence and be easy to surprise them.
So one of the most important things that Mikey does is that right when I try and get the leg drag his knee is open and it is very hard to do anything, then he goes to the foot look by going shin to shin.  When he gets the grip on my ankle you guys have no idea how tight it is.  Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this OSS!
