Premier BJJ Training in Bedford, MA | Bernardo Faria Academy

Guys today I am here with my good friend Bruno Malfacine.  Bruno and I trained together very often in Brazil and he was always the most impressive guy in the gym.  Bruno is the most accomplished competitor in the history of Jiu Jitsu because he is the only person to win his weight division 10x.  When he would train in Brazil people much larger than him always tried to do stuff to him because Bruno would roll with anyone in the gym.  Bruno would always beat guys much bigger than him.  Today I asked him to show me some of the ways he deals with bigger guys as he is only a rooster weight.  Check out the video below and then I will do some breakdown.

Breakdown of How To Beat The Bigger Opponent: Butterfly Collar Drag To Arm Bar by Bruno Malfacine:

So guys as you can see above Bruno is very technical and a great teacher.  Bruno loves to play the butterfly guard.  One more thing that I will say about Bruno is that he always starts in the butterfly guard no matter how big his opponent is.
When he goes against bigger guys he tries to control the pants and cross collar and when he does he is able to use screen-shot-2016-12-01-at-6-47-41-pmthe drag.  Drags are a great way to deal with bigger guys because you can use their momentum against them.
When Bruno gets these grips and is able to drag and come up Bruno will get into like a single leg.  One of his favorite ways to finish is to step forward into the leg drag.  This ends him in a perfect position because he is able to guard pass as well.  Anyways guys, I hope you enjoyed this position, oss!
