Premier BJJ Training in Bedford, MA | Bernardo Faria Academy

Today I am here with someone I have known for a long time, my friend Jon Manley.  Jon is a very good brown belt in Massachusetts who is also a super good MMA fighter.  He was actually on TUF season 16.  I know him and his brother for a long time because when I visited Massachusetts I was training them and teaching at the school that they were at.  He has a twin brother.  It is great to see how far Jon has come, now he owns his own school in Mass and he has come very far as a bjj practitioner. He and his brother are a very high level and it is always a pleasure to train with them.  Today Jon is going to show us a variation of the bow and arrow choke which is his favorite choke from the back.   Check it out below and then I will do a breakdown.

Breakdown of Bow and Arrow Choke by Jon Manley:

So guys this is a very good variation of a really popular choke that most of us probably know.  Jon gives some very advanced details to the choke.  The first thing he does is that he acts like he does not want my lapel and then goes for it very tight.
After he gets my lapel he grabs the other lapel which is a good way to do the bow and arrow.  One of the most important details that he does is to let me think that I can escape the choke and get my hip to the mat, when I try to do this it is actually a trap.
Jon lets me think that I can escape and he follows me up so that he can create the angle to finishscreen-shot-2016-12-01-at-6-47-41-pm the choke.  This is a very important detail.  Anyways guys I hope you like this choke and try it out! Also if you have not already check out my free E-Book! I really think that this can help your bjj!
